Kynic is committed to safeguarding your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, store, and protect your data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information necessary to deliver sports scheduling, squad communication, and match fee tracking services:
- Account Credentials: Name, email address, password hashes, and display name.
- Profile Details: Profile photos uploaded via secure cloud storage (Vercel Blob), optional club affiliations, and playing positions.
- Team & Event Data: Squad memberships, match availability responses (RSVPs), medical/injury alerts (visible to authorised team coaches only), and attendance history.

2. Children & Junior Players
Kynic places paramount importance on the safety and privacy of young athletes:
- We do not permit users under 18 years of age to access full event creation or team matchday features without mandatory parent or guardian consent.
- When a minor registers, an automated notification containing a 6-digit PIN and secure verification link is sent to the designated parent/guardian.
- Minor profiles are restricted from public search indexes, and their contact information is never shared with third-party advertisers.
3. How We Use Information
Your information is used strictly for legitimate platform operations:
- Delivering fixture timetables, squad rosters, and matchday kickoff details.
- Sending automated and manual availability nudges so coaches know squad numbers before kickoff.
- Generating digital waivers and legal audit logs for organiser risk protection.
- Processing match fee splitting receipts and venue payment records.
4. Data Storage & Security
Kynic employs robust technical and organizational security measures:
- Database connections utilize encrypted SSL/TLS data transmission (Neon PostgreSQL).
- User passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt algorithms.
- Cloud assets (such as profile images) are stored securely on high-availability infrastructure (Vercel Blob) with public read access scoped to user avatars.
5. Third-Party Services
We engage trusted third-party service providers to support platform infrastructure:
- Resend: Dispatches transactional emails, password resets, and guardian verification PIN notices.
- Vercel Blob & Vercel Hosting: Manages web application hosting and cloud asset storage.
- Stripe: Processes digital match fee splitting transactions securely.
